![]() ![]() The one reason that players like myself have stayed clear of modeling in the past is though the sound was quite close to the real deal, there was still mojo missing in comparison to the amp being played in a live room. Amplitube 5 V.I.R screenīefore I dive in to tell you about my first chords through Amplitube 5, I want to explain their whole new Volumetric Impulse Response, or V.I.R technology, which captures every nuance of the cabs and heads. Click your “cab” icon and you won’t just see some speakers with mics, but an entire virtual room with interchangeable room mics, room types and even some different speakers if you want to do a swap mid-session. All the mainstays of your rig are accessible from the signal chain, which are displayed as its correct icon instead of an ambiguous title that previous versions of Amplitube had. All the knobs and parameters fit the model of the amps that they correspond to, giving it the feel as if they were a part of your own amp locker. ![]() You don’t have to scroll through arduous menus and folders to find a piece of gear that you’re looking for, it’s just right there. I greatly appreciated that all the gear is visible in front of me as if I had just walked through the doors of a guitar playing producer’s heaven. ![]() Now, like a lot of you, I’m a very visual person, especially in the studio. Upon first look, you’ll see a new, user friendly layout of three different windows: your gear window (where you’ll see an amp loaded up at default), the signal chain, and a virtual gear locker. ![]()

![]() ![]() You can perform the most settings already known from the Custom Fields in the content component. The fields will be managed in the backend (Components -> Contacts -> Fields). That makes it easier to manage and find fields in the edit mode of a contact. You can create Field Groups (Components -> Contacts -> Field Groups), so if you want to add many Custom Fields to your contacts it might be a good idea to cluster them by topics. It works similar to the Custom Fields in the Content Component. It is really easy to expand the contact information you can provide by a single contact. In the third part I will show you how to individualize it for your use case.Įxpand contact information with custom fields You can see in the standard settings also a basic contact form displayed. Figure 2 shows how a single contact will be displayed in the frontend using the Cassiopeia template. You can easily influence the style by custom CSS for example. I would recommend trying out for yourself what the individual views look like. Single Contact: Display a single contact like the single article view of the content component. List Contacts in a Category: Shows all contacts of a category, like the category view of the content component. In the third part of this series I will show you how to create an override to provide an organization diagram. List All Categories in a Contact Category Tree: This gets you a tree to click through the contact categories. It works like the overview of the featured articles. ![]() I don’t have a good use case for this type, only one idea when to use it: when the content will be managed completely in the frontend.įeatured Contacts: Will display all contacts which are marked as featured. I will explain what you can use the different types for:Ĭreate Contact: Here you can create a contact. The types used most often are the second to the fifth. Go to the part of Contacts and you will find different menu entry types, like the ones shown in figure 1. Click on the New and in the next screen, click on the Select button. ![]() If you want to display information or content from the Contact Component go to the Menu section and select the Menu where you want to add an entry to display the contact details. How to display Information in the frontend And you’ll discover how you can expand the contact information by custom fields, so you can individualize the information you can save and display to a single contact. Today I will show you how to display content of the Contact Component in the frontend. I assume the content of the first article to be known, if not you will find the article here. Afterwards I showed you how to set up a basic category tree and how to create a contact, and explained which fields are available. I described why I think that it is a really powerful core extension, and I figured out why it is really underestimated by most users. In the first part I gave you a short overview about the backend part of this powerful component. This is the second part of the small series of 3 articles about the Contact Component (com_contact). ![]() ![]() ![]() However, this is not the case either, for JKD is both at once “this” and “not this”, and JKD is neither opposed to styles nor not opposed to them. If JKD is not a style or a method, maybe it is neutral or maybe it is indifferent. To define JKD as a style (gung fu, karate, kickboxing, and so forth) is to miss the point completely, for its teaching method cannot be reduced to a system. In other words, JKD, although possessed of all angles, is itself not possessed for as previously mentioned, any structure, however efficiently designed, becomes a cage if the practitioner is obsessed with it. And, although it utilizes all ways and means to serve its end (efficiency is anything that scores), it is bound by none, and it is therefore free from all ways and means. And, consequently, its techniques cannot be reduced to a system. Structurally, it does not look at combat from a certain angle but from all possible angles, because it is not bound by any system. To create such a method is pretty much like putting a pound of water into wrapping paper and shaping it – although futile arguments exist nowadays as to the choice of colors, textures, and so forth, of the wrapping paper.īriefly, JKD is not a form of specialized conditioning with a set of beliefs and a particular approach. To begin with, let me be the first to tell you that there is no such thing as a method of fighting. Unlike the traditional approach, there is not a series of rules, a classification of techniques, and so forth, that constitute a so-called JKD method of fighting. The brand name is really nothing special. More about this later, but in the meantime, do remember that the term Jeet Kune Do is merely a name used, a mirror in which we see ourselves. On the contrary, I hope to free my followers from clinging to styles, patterns or molds. To set the record straight, I have NOT invented a new style, composite, modified or otherwise, that is, a style or method set within distinct form and laws apart from “this” style or “that” method. ![]() We will cover its history, how it works, and some of the benefits of training in this style.Īt the core of Bruce Lees thinking about Jeet Kune Do and to paraphrase he said: In this blog post, we will discuss everything you need to know about Jeet Kune Do.
